Christmas returns to Sylvan Lake as light displays turned on again
The yearly light-up has become a dazzling tradition for Sylvan Lake with the Winter Village nestled on the lakefront in the heart of the downtown. 304,000 LED lights go into the Winter Village that glow, twinkle, dance, and change color in the trees overhead.

To get in light of the holiday season, the Sylvan Lake News asked readers on Facebook to submit a photo of their light displays. The photo with the most reactions will be published in the Dec. 20 edition of the Sylvan Lake News. The top three photos are featured on our website. Readers could submit their photos and vote until 5 p.m. on Dec. 14.

It is nearly the holiday season, and for Sylvan Lake that means the Light Up The Lake Celebrations. Light up the Night coincides with the Spirit of Sylvan Yuletide Festival and Market which runs from Nov. 30 to Dec. 1 this year. Following the success of last year, the Santa Claus Parade and the fireworks will take place on Sat., Dec. 1.
